Growing up with less than a stellar sense of self, she was someone who struggled with a body-loathing self-hating little monkey on her back. Over the past ten years, Amanda has been working her way towards a health-conscious lifestyle finding new ways to be active and fueling her body, not eating to soothe her emotions.
In 2013, diagnosed with Osteoarthritis Amanda continued training for her second attempt at an Ironman distance triathlon. The diagnosis didn’t stop Amanda from completing her Ironman in 2014, but it changed many aspects of Amanda’s life before and after the race.
Today, Amanda uses writing, exercise and meditation to help heal wounds old and new and is learning how to live a rich and authentic life, a life she is proud of and enjoys to the fullest.
