#whyitri

I am honoured to be an ambassador for the sport of Triathlon. My obsession with the sport started when I was training for my first race ever, a half marathon. I was watching an Ironman race online; it was Lake Placid 2011. I was glued to the screen watching the finish line feed. Mike Reilly was there calling in the finishers, and hearing him say “You are an Ironman!” was all it took. I was hooked! I knew then in those moments; Ironman was something I had to do, something I was meant to do.

Triathlon was a way to live a healthier life as I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I saw racing as a great motivation, if I was signed up for a race, I HAD to train. No excuses. At the beginning, training was something I had to do, now it’s something I love to do.

Participating in Triathlon has provided me with more than I could ever imagined. I have had some of the most amazing life experiences, with more to come. I’ve learned lessons about life, the sport, and myself, lessons I probably wouldn’t have learned otherwise. I will be forever grateful to this sport as it has given me some of the best friends and mentors a girl could have.

Triathlon, my way of life.
